Waveguide is a full-service cabling designer and installer. We are equipped to handle any infrastructure tasks, ranging from new designs to upgrading or revamping an out-of-date system.

Waveguide has designed and installed data centers for regional data processing centers, call centers, Internet Service Providers, and shipboard environments. In all installations, the centers provide a balance of form and function: clean and redundant power and air; redundant telco and data access; and neat, orderly, and well-documented cabling infrastructure.

As network speeds increase, the infrastructure on which they ride becomes increasingly more important. In the past, we learned that 10Base T would work on just about anything. But today, the cable plant is an intrinsic component in the reliability and stability of high-speed networks. With gigabit being brought to the desktop, a simple over tightening of a cable support tie wrap could have a significant affect on the cable's transmission characteristics. For that reason, the Network Administrator should rely on certified installers to install this key component of his network.

Case History

Waveguide installed a voice, data, and security network for a 950,000 square foot distribution facility. The design was based on a collapsed voice and data backbone architecture, with a central voice and data equipment room and 11 distribution closets. Multimode and singlemode fiber provides gigabit service to the network core while cat5e cabling provides 100mb service to the workstations. Voice services were provided with a Lucent switch and distributed through high-density copper feeders. A separate fiber optic network was installed to provide connectivity for the facility's closed circuit camera system. Overall, this facility was cabled to provide ease of service and yet maintain maximum flexibility for tomorrow’s applications.

Case History

When a local company needed a solution for a network test lab and network configuration center, Waveguide provided the solution. By dividing the structure into separate units, Waveguide was able to provide a secure network environment for the testing of new applications within a test lab environment and production facilities for the network configuration facility. This facility brings together the components of a vast network of administrative PCs, Point of Sales units, mini bars, wireless access nodes, internet café stations, and interactive TV stations, integrates them into one network and then transports them to their final destination for installation. For this facility, Waveguide installed a cat6 solution that is easy to maintain yet extremely flexible for their ever-changing configuration center.
